Schlafly Bankside resides in a building that’s been standing since the mid 1700’s. The expansive structure was constructed in 1769, just four years after the founding of St. Louis. Originally built as a grist mill, the building has consistently been a landmark in an area that shares not only great importance with St. Louis but is also home to the country’s great westward expansion. In the early 1990’s it stood as Trailhead brewing for 25 years. Since then, Schlafly Bankside has been focused on being a community focused brewpub for friends and neighbors to come together around a pint. Schlafly Beer has always been dedicated to establishing community hubs to help nourish and grow the neighborhood.
